May 11th, 2023 | 12 mins 24 secs
Welcome to today's podcast where we're going to talk about why having a process is important, specifically when it comes to managing an equity portfolio. This episode is for two types of listeners - those who entrust their investment decisions to us and want to understand how we create their portfolios, and those who prefer to make their own investment decisions. Recently, we've been refining our processes and we'd like to give you a high-level overview of what we do behind the scenes when building portfolios. We'll cover three main aspects - screening, assessing opportunities, and portfolio structure.
In a nutshell, having a process means having a routine and being disciplined. It's crucial to establish guidelines that will help you go through a checklist to ensure that you're investing your capital in areas that have the potential for excess returns. Do your research on stocks that look promising, but also consider all the factors that make a company valuable. Have guidelines on how much you're willing to invest in specific sectors or industries. By having a clear and consistent process, you'll be able to make informed investment decisions that can help you achieve your financial goals.
